The Recent Future

THE RECENT FUTURE

At a kitchen table in some small town in America, a young man (pictured here) offers a cup of coffee to his elderly companion.

“Uh, a cup of coffee, Professor?”

The Professor appears distracted, looking askance while fidgeting with his slide rule and mutters, “Hmm, yes, Bill, apparently so.”

“So Professor,” continues Bill, “Do you think Man will ever return to the Moon?”

Once again distracted the Professor stares out the window and says, “Hmm, well Bill, they say that Uranus is a huge gaseous giant!”

“But what about returning to the Moon, professor?”

“Hmm, well, yes, err, definitely sometime in the recent future. Yes, in the recent future, certainly!” (mumbles... slackjawed ... ...) (three dots)

Heh heh heh.
